Puerto Andratx
The resort of Puerto Andratx is found in the far Southwest of Mallorca in the Municipality of Andratx. You can reach the resort very quickly from Palma Airport by car, approx 35 minutes on the motorway, or if you prefer you can use the local bus service or a taxi. On approaching Andratx by road you can admire the stunning scenery or equally arriving by boat you can enjoy views to the elegant harbour. The Port has retained all of its charm as an original fishing village of Mallorca.
You will see boats and luxury yachts of all shapes and sizes. Many vessels have a last stop at Puerto Andratx before sailing onto mainland Spain or further East into the Mediterranean.
In the evenings, the area has a very cosmopolitan feel when all the restaurants are illuminated and bursting to capacity.
Where to stay
Although Andratx had very humble beginnings, today it is a very stylish and chic resort with varied shops, restaurants and a great number of estate agencies thriving on the demand for property. There are a few Hotels in the resort itself but you will find more accommodation in the neighbouring Camp de Mar. Puerto Andratx has attracted many wealthy German and English tourists over the years, many of whom have set up home building luxury villas in the surrounding hillsides.

In the Village of Andratx you will find a small range of restaurants however in Puerto Andratx there are an abundance of places to eat

Andratx Tourist Information Office
As you approach Puerto Andratx, you will see the Fishery building which also houses the local Information Office.
Here you can find everything you need to know for your holiday. The office normally has an attendant to answer any questions. See more office contacts
If you arrive early enough in the morning you will see the fishermen bringing their catch into the fish weighing station. After this you will see the fishermen lining out and repairing their nets for the following day's catch.

Getting Around
Car Hire is available and from from one of the trip at the Port. Many tourists visit one of the other nearby resorts such as Peguera or Santa Ponsa or a little further to Palma for a day out

If you need a Chemist you will find one opposite the Port. You will also find an Eroski supermarket at the start of the port. Near to this you will also find a super take-away foodshop selling ribs, roast chicken etc.

Things to do
Many boat trips from other nearby resorts stop for a short duration at Puerto Andratx. This can result in the resort becoming very busy at certain times of the day.

The Saluet River Bed
This is the Saluet River Bed which runs into Puerto Andratx. This natural riverbed has great beauty and is also home to a large popularion of Mallards and French Tamarisk.
The area of wetlands also has many giant reeds known as Spanish cane.
Andratx Village Square
The village of Andratx, Mallorca is found just a few kilometres from Puerto de Andratx and this has one of the largest weekly markets held on Wednesday mornings. This is very popular with visiting tourists.
You can travel to this market by car, local bus or a short taxi trip.

Sant Elm Beach Dragonera View from Sant Elm
The quiet village of Sant Elm is also well worth a visit and is a short distance from Puerto Andratx. You will find a very quaint little beach there. From Sant Elm you have a tremendous view of Sa Dragonera, the well known uninhabited island which features on many postcards and photos of Puerto Andratx and Mallorca.
