C'an Pastilla Beach                                                             The Promenade in C'an Pastilla

We have stayed in C'an Pastilla during a shopping weekend in Palma and enjoyed a relaxing walk along the beautiful promenade which stretches to Arenal with the resort of Playa de Palma in between.  Enjoy a glass of wine after a hard days shopping while watching the sunset!

Many years ago, at the start of the tourist boom in Mallorca, the resort was particularly popular with British Tourists. At that time, the Brits loved the simplicity of arriving at Palma Airport and being in the resort literally within five to 10 minutes. Hotels, apartments, restaurants, cafes, bars, beach, sun.....what more could they have asked for!

A very short taxi/transfer time as opposed to the very lengthy travelling time to other resorts around the Island. Once the transport system in Mallorca had improved, the popularity of the resort diminished.

The resort has a good selection of Hotels which offer

fairly good value for money. Some of the hotels, despite being refurbished in the last few years, still have a traditional Spanish feel to them. Near to the main road into the resort you will find a number of small cheap hotels some without swimming pools which are popular with people travelling on a low budget. You can reserve many of the hotels on the internet privately or through a tour operator offering a package holiday.

C'an Pastilla Restaurants, Cafes and Bars

In the resort you will find a small selection of restaurants serving a variety of cuisine from traditional Spanish and Mallorquin to British, German and Chinese.

You will find many bars especially in the narrow side streets which run

up and down to the main road from the beach/promenade. One characteristic of C'an Pastilla is that there are several bakery type cafeterias along the main road all of which are extremely popular with tourists and locals alike. Each offering home-made cakes, pastries and the traditional Mallorquin ensaimaida which you can buy in a box and take home.
