The Resort of Puerto de Pollensa

This Mallorcan seaside resort has immense unspoiled natural beauty. The Port has a wonderful array of small boats and luxury yachts in an amazing setting against the backdrop of the Tramuntana Mountains.

For tourists, especially families, Puerto de Pollensa offers safe gently sloping sandy beaches with wonderful wide promenades running alongside. At the end of the promenades you have the delightful Pinewalk, a narrow tree lined cobbled walkway with tiny beach areas all the way to the Aerodrome. You will find an abundance of property for rent, cafes and retaurants to choose from, something for everyone.

Cycling and watersports of all kinds are popular in the area, in fact you will find a Wind Surf school directly on the beach as you approach the town from the Alcudia. You could try Scuba Diving or improve your diving skills in the clear calm waters.

Originally a small fishing village, the town has grown slowly and steadily over time to cope with demand in tourism. In previous years visitors to this area were mainly from Britain however today you will also find German, Scandinavian, French and Eastern European Tourists. The Port has come along way with the tourist boom and provides a sizeable percentage of income to Pollensa and Mallorca in general.

The Beaches and Pinewalk

The bay of Pollensa is very wide and long with the beach (just under 4 kilometres) running alongside the resort. It is a little narrow at the beginning with a few rocky points until you reach the start of the long stretches of fine golden sand.

Some of the Hotels provide sun-beds for their guests on certain parts of the beach. You will see private property owners bringing their own beach chairs and setting up alongside the shade of the pine trees. Although the smaller beach areas can be particularly crowded in July and August, they are preferred by many because of the excellent views across the bay.

The Pinewalk is very enjoyable for a stroll, especially in the evenings when tourists and locals tend to take a walk after dinner. Because of the volume of pine trees, it is best to have some mosquito repellent handy after dusk.

Pollensa Port (Puerto)

The Port and Marina is an enormous area with many fishing boats and yachts permanently moored there. Summer months are extremely busy when all types of boats, yachts and luxury superyachts berth there for a short while before continuing their sail.

We recommend taking a stroll around the Port where you can enjoy the excellent views of the bay and over to the town.

There is a car park at the entrance.

Formentor and Lighthouse

You can easily take a trip to Formentor, the farthest Northern point of Majorca. It is really worthwhile for the breathtaking scenery alone. There are various points where you can stop to explore along the way. The roads are extremely narrow in places therefore the journey can take some time.
