The Resorts
The resorts of Cala D'Or and Cala Egos lie together in the Municipality of Santanyi in the south east of Majorca. The journey takes around 1 hour by car or taxi from Palma Airport. This area is a particularly popular destination with couples and families from Britain, Germany and France.
Cala D'Or was one of the first major tourist resorts in the East Coast of Mallorca with most of the buildings themed on traditional low level whitewashed Ibicencan style. Villas, Apartments and even Hotels had to stick with this theme thus you will not find any high rise buildings in the area adding to the charm. The small resort of Cala Egos, literally linked to Cala D'Or, has a tiny beach together with a couple of Hotel complexes.
In this region you will find mainly all-inclusive holidays, a popular choice for many tourists. However if your preferred option is self-catering, there are a number of apartment holidays together with private apartments and villas for rent.
