The Resort - Getting there

Palmanova, one of the best couples and families resorts in the South-West of the Island, offers superb beaches, beautiful walkways and plenty of activities and attractions.

The resort is located beside Magaluf in the South West of Majorca in the Municipality of Calvia.

To get there take the Route Aerotib Resort Bus Line A11 direct from Palma Airport. If the bus times do not match with your flight arrival time you can take the Airport No1 Bus to Plaza de Espana station and then look for TIB Bus 104,105 or 106 to the resort.

Alternatively take the more relaxed form of transport, a taxi or book a Private Airport Transfer Bus. See all transport choices

Although a much less lively resort than neighbouring Magaluf, Palmanova has a lot to offer with many hotels, apartments, restaurants, bars and shops to choose from. It tends to be very popular with families especially in the summer months.

Tourists travel there from all over Europe including many Spanish and British pensioners who enjoy their holidays in the early and late season months.

Shopping

A large Eroski Supermarket (Spanish supermarket chain) is on the outskirts of the resort and another small Eroski City is in the main street, Avenida de la Playa.

You will also find a Mercadona supermarket in Son Caliu and an Aldi Supermarket in nearby Magaluf.

Throughout Palmanova you have a varied selection of smaller supermarkets selling basic food, drinks and snacks.

If you are looking for some serious shopping you could take the local bus or taxi trip to Palma to explore the City shops such as Zara, Mango, H&M not to mention the specialist designer shops throughout town.

Fan Shopping Centre near the Airport is the largest complex in Mallorca and also a well worth a visit.

The Beaches - 3 fantastic stretches of sand

The jewels in the crown in Palmanova are definitely the beaches.

There are three beautiful bays, Playa Son Matias, Playa de Palmanova and Playa Es Carregador, all magnificent and very well cared for by Calvia Ajuntament (council). All three beaches have been awarded the 'BLUE FLAG' which denotes that the quality of both the beach and the water is regularly checked and kept to a very high standard.

The three long and wide stretches of white sand are easily accessible from a smart pedestrian walkway. This together with the fact that a good deal of Palmanova is flat attracts many disabled visitors. Disabled facilities are available on the beach as well as all the usual sunbeds, parasols etc.

You can enjoy a walk around the small port at the end of Es Carregador Beach.

Money Exchange

Like other nearby resorts Palmanova has several tour and trip offices offering car hire, boat trips, tickets for local attractions and various excursions around the Island. These offices offer a good rate of exchange, usually better than the local banks in the area. A higher rate of exchange is available if you change a larger sum of money. Ask for an improved rate before changing your money.
