The resort of Santa Ponsa has been extremely popular since tourism began on the Island of Mallorca. It has something for everyone and a firm favourite with couples, families and groups. This popularity has generated considerable growth and development, resulting in a wide range of accommodation and amenities.

The main visitors to the resort historically were from Britain and Ireland however this has expanded in recent years to incude tourists from Germany, France, Northern and Eastern Europe.
Getting to Santa Ponsa is easy, from the Airport you can use the resort bus from the Airport, A11. Alternatively you could hire a car or arrange a private mini bus,perfect for small or large groups travelling together.

The nearest Market to Santa Ponsa
Santa Ponsa has a handcraft market held during the summer months Mondays - Sundays from 1800 - 0000. The nearest weekly market is held on Wednesday mornings in Andratx Village. This is a busy market and a well worth trip. You could also visit Calvia Market on Monday mornings. You can reach both Villages by car, taxi or local island bus service

Santa Ponsa Beach Protected Forest Beside Beach
The beautiful Beach and Forest
Santa Ponsa beach is magnificent with clear waters and fine golden sand. You will find plenty of sunbeds, parasols and all kinds of watersports on offer. Lifeguards are on daily duty during the Tourist Season, May-October.
Beside the beach is a beautiful protected natural forest park, where many birds including parakeets have taken up residence. This area is ideal for taking a stroll, especially with young children, to help keep cool on a hot day. On Sundays the beach plus shady areas alongside are busy with local day-trippers from other regions of the Island, who come to the coast for a picnic.

The resort continues all the way to to Los Jardines in Costa de la Calma. From there you have a terrific view over the bay. You can follow the coastal road to visit the small quieter bay at Costa de La Calma escaping the crowds on the main beach.
Boat Trip ticket office
The safe, shallow Santa Ponsa waters are perfect for family swimming and ideal for almost every kind of watersports. Boat Trips can be arranged from various ticket offices or from this mobile ticket office opposite the beach. Open 0900-1500 Mon-Sat .The 2 hr boat trip to Andratx is highly recommended.

Santa Ponsa Main Street Ave Rey Jaume I
As you approach Santa Ponsa from Palma, you will find a large Eroski Supermarket on Avenida Rey Jaume I. You can also buy basic groceries from a variety of small grocery stores throughout the Resort.
Santa Ponsa Main Roundabout/Plaza
Santa Ponsa has several Chemists (Farmacias) throughout the resort. Several you will find near the beach and one opposite the Tourist Office.

The Information Office, pictured above, is beside the beach and forest area. There you will find all sorts of local information on Santa Ponsa plus also on Mallorca in general. Be sure to pick up a free map and if you are unable to find what you are looking for, ask the information attendant on duty.

In the town centre there is a vast selection of places to eat, all different types of food on offer from typical Spanish, Mallorquin, Indian, Chinese, British and even Dutch Cuisine. Many restaurants serve Menu del Dia, a two or three course lunch with drinks included for a very reasonable price. You also have a variety of fast food including McDonalds and Burger King near the beach.

Around the street Ramon de Moncada, you will find many disco pubs and bars providing live evening entertainment. This is a vibrant area at night with many of the pubs and bars staying open until the small hours.
Port Adriano
Port Adriano
A popular tourist walk is to Port Adriano the Marina of Santa Ponsa. This Port has grown in size since its recent re-development. You find an array of Boats and luxury Yachts of all shapes and sizes. There are also some Cafes and Restaurants beside the Marina.
Santa Ponsa Golfing
Santa Ponsa has three top golf courses - Golf I, II and III. Tourists can arrange a game of golf privately at Golf I where you can also hire clubs, buggies and trolleys. See more Golf information.
Nearby Things to do
From Santa Ponsa you can visit Western Waterpark, Aqualand, Marineland plus Palma Aquarium. All are a short distance from the resort.
